Henderson insurance brokers make two new appointments to Executive Board

CEO personally initiates appointments to reward success and commitment

Henderson Insurance Brokers Ltd (HIBL) – the Commercial Insurance Broking Arm of the Henderson Insurance Broking Group (HIG) – has promoted Paul Judge and Phil Davies to the Group’s Executive Board.

HIBL Tingley Managing Director, Paul Judge has worked for the company at its Leeds headquarters for 14 years. His first role in the business was Development and Marketing Director for HIBL, where he thrived on spearheading a new business strategy that would aid the growth of the brokerage.

Paul’s success in securing new business and supporting the development of new and additional services has earned him a great deal of respect among his colleagues and the senior management team. His next career step in his career sees him going back to his new client roots, leading to his appointment as Executive Development Director for all companies within the Henderson Insurance Group.

MD for HIBL Central Leeds, Phil Davies, has spent less time in the company but has made an equally strong impact and impression on his colleagues and the business’ bottom line. Phil joined HIBL from Towergate just over five years ago, and, in a relatively short space of time, has developed a strong SME/Wholesale proposition. With support from his team, he developed the division from scratch to now achieving over £20m Premium Income.

Phil will represent these disciplines on the Executive Board and also act as a staff representative on behalf of approximately 450 Group Employees.

CEO Joe Henderson, who personally initiated and endorsed these promotions, said: “This move reflects the commitment and drive demonstrated by Phil and Paul, and is a reward for the success they have both achieved. Having the right people is crucial in a service-led business like ours and I’m confident people such as Paul and Phil on our Executive Board will help to continue pushing a positive, client-driven culture across the Group and its subsidiary businesses.”

Speaking of the promotion, Paul said: “I’m delighted to have been given this opportunity and to demonstrate to our staff that hard work is rewarded. The insurance industry tends to see a lot of movement of people, but thanks to the innovative and progressive approach of HIG, I’ve been able to satisfy my need for development and promotion by staying in one company.”

Phil added: “To secure a position on the Executive Board so quickly is a real honour, particularly given that I have the opportunity to represent my colleagues and their needs. I believe my appointment also demonstrates the importance of our relatively new SME/Wholesale division to our clients and provides the potential to continue the fast-paced development of that area of the business.”
