Cooper Gay appoints Jonathan Prinn as head of global placement

Cooper Gay has announced the appointment of Jonathan Prinn as head of global placement. He takes up his new role on 12th September and will report to Steve Hearn, group CEO.

Prinn brings over two decades of international broking placement and management to his new role. He joins Cooper Gay from Willis where he served, most recently, as deputy head of broking at Willis GB. In this role he was instrumental in the development of a number of market initiatives and new revenue streams. Previously he served as COO of the Willis global placement company, where one of his primary responsibilities was the design and implementation of the WillPLACE broking system. He joined Willis from Guy Carpenter in 2008, where he had held the role of global COO of the facultative division. Prinn also served as a managing director of Marsh Global Placement.  He began his insurance career in 1981 with Bowring Ltd (now Marsh & McLennan).

Hearn said: “Jonathan is the latest in a series of senior appointment which offer a glimpse of our ambitions for the future. He has an outstanding track record of implementing industry leading technology and broking solutions which will significantly enhance our proposition and firmly position us a new force in the market. Our plans are ambitious. However, by continuing to strengthen our team with proven market innovators and leaders with the drive and vision to support our goals, I am certain that our business will quickly set itself apart from anything in our sector today. I am very pleased to announce Jonathan’s appointment and look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly have."

Prinn added: ''I'm delighted to join Cooper Gay, it is a company with a clear ambition, remit and growth plans. I'm very much looking forward to helping serve Cooper Gay's diverse client base and working with carriers to create new and innovative solutions, both in London or overseas.”
