Action gets underway in the 2017 British Superbike Championship this weekend with Hampshire-based Be Wiser Insurance hoping for a repeat of last year’s championship winning performance.
The Be Wiser Owl is back on the racetracks with the company once again the title sponsor of the PBM managed Ducati Race Team. The first races are this weekend at Donington Park with a visit to Be Wiser’s local circuit in Thruxton, Hampshire in August.
Last year the team became the most successful ever in BSB history and rider Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne lifted the driver’s trophy.
The official 2017 livery of the team was unveiled at last week’s official MCE BSB test day at Donington Park which saw Shane Byrne post second fastest time in the damp conditions with Glenn Irwin sixth in the BSB class.
“It was great to be involved with such a successful, enthusiastic and professional team and we’re delighted to be back on board for 2017,” said Be Wiser’s marketing director Andrew Dunkerley who attended the event.
“Our first year working with the team was thrilling and winning the championship certainly helped promote our name to a wider audience and this year should be even better with all UK rounds broadcast live on Eurosport and an hour of highlights on ITV4.”
