Barbon Insurance Group appoints Andy Glynne as Director

Barbon Insurance Group Ltd (Barbon), the UK’s leading provider of risk solutions to the residential lettings sector, has appointed Andy Glynne as Commercial Director.  Glynne joins Barbon as it enters an exciting new chapter following the management buyout with backing from The Carlyle Group, which completed earlier this year.

The appointment underlines Barbon’s intention to capitalise on growth opportunities within the private rental sector, where the company provides referencing services and insurance solutions for tenants, landlords and letting agents.  In his new role Glynne will head up Barbon’s commercial department, including Underwriting, Claims Handling, Marketing and Sales. He will develop and lead new product development and distribution for the insurance business.

Glynne has spent 24 years in the insurance sector, across both insurer and broking businesses and joins from Cigna Insurance Services, formerly FirstAssist Insurance Services, one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist insurance services, where he served in a number of senior management roles. Most recently, he was Commercial Director for Cigna’s UK personal lines insurance business with full responsibility for revenue generation and client management across all products.  Previously he had overall responsibility for the Legal Protection business.  Glynne began his career at Sun Alliance Insurance Group.

He will bring to Barbon a track record of innovation, marketing expertise and customer development including extensive experience gained working with blue chip affinity partners and their customers.
